Bondy, John. John Bondy was born in the
fall of 1756 near Bald Friar Ferry in Cecil county, Maryland and enlisted
there in the Revolutionary War. "John Bonnedy" was a Private in
Major Henry Lee's Partizan Corps on Feb. 17, 1780. In 1803 he moved to
Cumberland county, NC and in the spring of 1804 he lived for three years
with George Albright and then with James McPherson. He applied for a
pension on Jan. 4, 1834 in Orange county, NC aged 77 and died in 1836. His
widow, Elizabeth, applied for a pension (W5858) on May 22, 1849, in Wake
county, NC stating they were married on Feb. 4, 1793 in Wake county. Allen
Griffis signed the marriage bond along with John Bondy (Ref. VDW
Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files, White, Virgil
D., Waynesboro, TN
